The process of making a neon sign
Making a neon sign from a special LED strip is a more modern and economical way to create lighting, which is also highly effective.
In this article, we will take you behind the scenes of our work and tell you what stages this fascinating process consists of.
1. Engineering and design:
The very first step is, of course, consultation with the client and development of the sign design. Very often, clients have no idea what exactly their lettering should look like and want to see a sample of the final result. Especially for such purposes, we have developed a “Neon Calculator”, which allows you to select the font, color and all the necessary components of the sign and, in addition, immediately clearly see what the client will receive in the end. It does not require any special skills and is very easy to use.
2. Selecting LED strip:
The second step, together with the client, is to select an LED strip of the desired color, brightness and LED density at the stand of our salon in accordance with the design of the sign.
It is important to ensure that the tape you choose meets the requirements for moisture resistance and durability, especially if the sign will be installed outdoors.
3. Cutting out the base of the sign:
The third step is cutting out the base of the sign on the plastic. A special machine is used in this process. The color and shape of the base are discussed with the client at the first stage.
4. Preparing the tape:
The fourth stage is cutting and soldering the LED strip according to the size and shape of the letters and symbols. The soldering strength is checked by our specialists at every stage.
5. Mounting on base:
The fifth step is applying the LED strip to the cut-out base along the contours of the letters and symbols using double-sided tape or glue. This work requires extreme accuracy, concentration and meticulousness.
6. Electrical connection:
The next, sixth stage is connecting the resulting structure to a power source in accordance with the connection rules.
7. Testing and Troubleshooting:
And finally, the final step is testing and correcting defects.
At this step, our technician carefully checks the functionality of each segment of the LED strip and each LED. If necessary, faulty segments are replaced and reconfigured, the same applies to soldering points.
8. Additional stage - installation:
In case the client does not want to install the sign himself, we provide an installation service. Our master comes to the site with all the necessary equipment, including a stepladder or lift, and installs and then connects the sign.
