LED light-emitting diodes SMDs are popular in the manufacture of boards and LED strips for light sources. But after the expiration of the allotted period of work, they can fail. • it is not allowed to connect smd LEDs of characteristics which differ or LEDs of different standard sizes. This combination can lead to short-term operation of all light sources, since their operating currents are different.
• it is forbidden to use an LED without additional drivers or resistors that limit the current.
• in a 12V series connection circuit, three LEDs with a limiting resistor are used. In this case, it is important to select a high-thermal resistor with a current rating that matches the group of LEDs.
• Increasing the current is critical for the LED. If the LED has a current of 20mA, and there is a short-term high current supply, this leads to an increase in brightness, overheating of the led LED and a drop in luminous power in the future.
