Slim built-in LED panels are in high demand. Nowadays you can find very few rooms where they are not used either. Due to their efficiency, durability and aesthetic design, LED panels are widely used in residential, commercial and public spaces. There are many models of LED panels of all shapes and sizes, but in this article we will look at their most common and universal types and the characteristics of their connection.

Types of thin recessed LED panels

1. Shape

LED panels come in different shapes, which allows them to be used for various purposes and in different indoor spaces. The two most common shapes are circle and square. Each of them has its own characteristics and advantages. For example, round panels give the interior softness and elegance, which makes them popular in living spaces, cafes, restaurants and hotels. Squares, on the other hand, are more often chosen for offices, educational institutions and commercial spaces due to their stricter and clearer lines.

Both types can be both the main light source and a decorative element that adds a special nuance to the interior design.

2. Size

Our website presents panels of different sizes and power: 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24W. Choosing the right size and power of the LED panel depends on your needs and the characteristics of the room. The larger the panel size, the greater its power and light flux. Smaller panels are suitable for decorative and accent lighting, while more powerful options are needed for main lighting in larger rooms.

3. Color temperature

Recessed panels are available in three color temperatures, so you can create optimal lighting for any room.

3000K - Warm white light creates a cozy and relaxing atmosphere, reminiscent of the light of incandescent lamps. Helps to relax and rest after a long day. It is suitable for living rooms, bedrooms, restaurants.

4000K - Neutral white light is clean and bright lighting without a yellow or blue tint. Perfect for working and studying as it doesn't strain the eyes and helps focus. The best choice for kitchens, offices, study rooms.

6000K - Cold white light creates bright and powerful lighting.. Suitable for places where high light intensity and clarity of details are required. It is ideal for garages, work areas.

4. Adjusting the brightness

Panels with a dimmable driver allow you to adjust the brightness of the light, which creates additional possibilities for creating a comfortable atmosphere and saving electricity.

Connection properties

Power supply

Most LED panels work on 220-240 V voltage. To connect them, drivers are usually used, which make the standard voltage necessary for the operation of the LEDs.

Montage

Special fasteners or suspension systems are usually used to install panels in suspended ceilings. Panels are installed in plasterboard ceilings using clips or frames.

Connecting dimmers and controllers

If the panel supports changing the dimming function or color temperature, special controllers or dimmers are used to control them. They can be wired or wireless, remote controls or mobile apps.

All precautions must be followed when installing and connecting LED panels. Work with electrical connections must be done with the voltage switched off. If you do not have experience as an electrician, it is better to entrust the installation to professionals.

Important! Do not connect the LED panel to the mains (220V) without the driver, otherwise the panel will burn out and must be disposed of.

Worth considering:
The LED panel cannot be connected to a mains connected driver (220V) because without load the driver will produce the maximum rated power, which will cause damage or burnout of the LED panel.

The LED panel must be connected to the mains (220V) only if the driver is already connected to the LED panel!

Slim built-in LED panels are a modern and efficient solution for lighting all types of rooms. Their variety allows you to choose the appropriate option for any task, and simple connection makes them available for installation both in new construction and in the framework of repairs. We hope that this article will help you understand the main types and features of connecting LED panels.
